Through the high-strength, dark-blue titanium nitride coating of one half of the scissors a self-sharpening effect is generated because the surface of the coated scissor-half is about twice as strong as that of the non-coated. Thus, the harder half is much more resistant to wear and is aimed to right up the cutting-burr at each opening / closing of the other, softer half (Design protected).
Here is an excerpt from the Report No. 170449/13067 the VPA experimental and testing laboratory Remscheid:
"The cutting performance tests were carried out with a device according to research report no. 2272 NRW. The wear of the same manicure scissors without coating ends at about 50,000 slices with the complete wear. By contrast, STAHLKRONE manicure scissors cut even after 103,000 cuts still perfect!"
